Is Wishmunk free to use?
Yes — Wishmunk is completely free. We earn a small commission through affiliate links on products where we can apply them. You never pay anything extra.
Why does this exist?
Amazon used to have a really good set of wishlists, but then they removed the ability to add non-Amazon products. There are other wishlist apps out there, but they've all become less enjoyable over time — full of ads, dark patterns, or missing features. I wanted a wishlist that was delightful to use. That's what Wishmunk is and will always be.
Can I keep my list private?
Absolutely. Every list has its own visibility setting: Public (anyone can view), Shared (anyone with the link), Restricted (specific people or groups with a link), or Private (visible only to you).
Do I need an account to buy someone a gift?
No. If the list owner allows it, you can reserve a gift as a guest — just enter your name so the owner's list updates correctly. Creating an account lets you track what you've reserved across devices.
How does gift claiming work?
When you reserve an item on someone's list, it's marked as reserved so nobody else buys the same thing. The list owner can't see who reserved it — just that it's taken. This keeps surprises intact.
